Mellifica — Your beekeeping companion

            The short version: Mellifica is built with privacy at its core. Your data stays on your device. We don't track you, we don't show ads, and we don't sell your information. Period.
        

1. Data We Store Locally

All your beekeeping data (hives, inspections, feedings, harvests, treatments, photos, notes) is stored locally on your device in an SQLite database. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to use the cloud sync feature.

2. Cloud Sync (Optional, Premium Feature)

If you subscribe to Mellifica Premium (€2.99/month) and enable cloud sync, the following data is transmitted to our servers:

Your email address and display name (for your account)
Your beekeeping data (hives, inspections, feedings, harvests, treatments, health records, equipment, financials, and supply inventory)
Photo attachments (stored encrypted, up to 500 MB)

This data is stored on a server located in France and is used solely to provide the sync service between your devices. We do not analyze, share, or sell this data.

3. Payment Information

Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card details. Stripe handles all payment processing in compliance with PCI DSS standards. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.

4. What We Don't Do

We don't use analytics or tracking services
We don't show advertisements
We don't collect device identifiers or usage statistics
We don't share your data with third parties
We don't use cookies (the web app uses local storage for authentication tokens only)

5. Location Data

Mellifica can optionally detect your location to tag your apiary coordinates and determine your climate zone for seasonal guidance. Location data is stored only on your device (and in cloud sync if enabled). We do not track your location.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you have a Mellifica account, you can at any time:

Export your data — download all your cloud data as a JSON file from the app
Delete your cloud data — remove all synced data from our servers while keeping your account
Delete your account — permanently remove your account, subscription, and all associated data

All these actions are available in the app under Settings > Premium & Cloud.

7. Data Retention

Your cloud data is retained for as long as you have an active account. If you cancel your subscription, your data remains accessible for 30 days after the subscription period ends. After account deletion, all data is permanently removed from our servers within 48 hours.

8. Children's Privacy

Mellifica is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. The app can be freely used without an account, in which case no personal data is collected at all.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
